Branch of diseases and diseases of poultry and fish
Branch message:
Qualifying students at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Muthanna University by providing them with scientific and practical experiences. The branch’s mission is to teach the basic concepts of pathology subjects to third-year students, poultry diseases to fourth-year students, fish diseases, pathological anatomy and forensic medicine, and veterinary application subjects to fifth-year students. The branch’s mission also includes continuing to develop and update the vocabulary of academic subjects, raising the level of theoretical and practical teachings, and providing the latest developments in books, scientific journals, and laboratory equipment.
Objectives :
1. Developing the various skills of faculty members
2. Access to global experiences and knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine by sending a section of faculty members to obtain higher degrees abroad, training abroad, and attending conferences and seminars.
3. Keeping pace with scientific and technological developments by strengthening cultural and scientific ties with local and international universities
4. Preparing specialized scientific cadres with a general level in the field of diagnosing veterinary diseases, including poultry and fish diseases.
5. Providing scientific consultations to animal breeders and owners of poultry fields and fish farming ponds.
6. Holding training courses and seminars to refresh information for veterinarians who graduated from previous years.
7. Holding field seminars to discuss diseases that kill livestock, in coordination with agricultural and veterinary departments.
8. Participation in the field practice held annually by Al-Muthanna University by providing services and consultations to animal, poultry and fish breeders.
9. Improving the academic level of primary studies students by updating the vocabulary of academic subjects.
10. Developing graduate studies in the branch by updating curricula and raising the level of specialized scientific research for graduate students in a manner consistent with the needs of society.
11- Teaching students adequate skills in preparing and interpreting the pathological changes that occur in animal tissues as a result of infection with a specific disease and the various causes leading to these general and specific changes.
12- Acquiring knowledge and skill capabilities in diagnosing, treating and controlling poultry diseases in a way that contributes to supporting the national economy and the development of the poultry industry in Iraq.
13- Providing students with the cognitive abilities to know the importance of various common parasitic, viral, bacterial and fungal diseases.
44- Teaching students about raising fish, the diseases that affect them, and methods of treating and controlling them.
Vision
It is a scientific knowledge training institution that seeks to qualify students of the College of Veterinary Medicine in addition to serving community institutions through holding courses and positive interaction in transferring expertise and communicating with international standards in terms of education and the ability to apply knowledge and scientific research with societal returns in a way that contributes to achieving development for our beloved Iraq and to be The Poultry Diseases and Diseases Branch is a scientific and academic leader at the regional and international levels
