brief history :

The Veterinary Public Health Branch is one of the scientific branches of the College of Veterinary Medicine. Through its teaching of several subjects, it seeks to prepare veterinarians who have the ability to properly deal with animals, as well as knowledge in many applied sciences, including animal and poultry nutrition and management, genetics, milk and meat health, statistics, computers, and more. What is important is their ability to examine foods of animal origin. The branch was established with the founding of the college in 2012 AD. The branch teaches these subjects for the first, second, and fifth stages.

Branch objectives:

The Veterinary Public Health Branch aims to graduate veterinarians qualified to practice the profession in more than one field, which is increasing daily, such as the field of slaughterhouses, dairy factories, milk collection centers, and management of poultry, sheep, and dairy cattle fields.
Providing health security by developing control over animal products, which leads to the provision of the most important nutritional element, which is protein, which plays an important role in the food security of our beloved Qatar, where livestock is at the forefront through controlling animal diseases and common and transmissible diseases between animals and humans.
The branch aims to protect society from diseases that are transmitted from animals to humans through research and diagnosis of these diseases and working to find ways to control the health of communicable diseases and focusing on the health of animal products.

Branch vision:

The Public Health Branch seeks to pay attention to the care and health of livestock and poultry to serve the community based on solid scientific foundations and human cadres with experience and expertise.

Branch message:

Preparing the student academically and scientifically to prepare distinguished and competent veterinarians who have the ability to meet the needs of the market and society in the field of veterinary public health. They also have the ability to conduct scientific research to solve community health problems.
Activating scientific research through the participation of faculty members and students in conducting research in the field of public health and disseminating knowledge to contribute to the development of the local community.
