About the branch
The Physiology, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemistry Branch is one of the five branches that was established with the founding of the college in 2012. The branch teaches theoretical and practical subjects, general chemistry, and medical physics for first-year students, animal physiology and biochemistry for second-year students, and pharmaceuticals and toxicology for third-year students.
Objectives :
1- Providing students with the basic concepts and experience necessary to prepare them as veterinarians and teaching veterinary students the basics of chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, medicines and toxicology.
2- Providing continuing education courses for veterinarians in pharmaceutical sciences and veterinary toxicology, as well as providing scientific consultations in veterinary treatments.
3. The student is built to be qualified to treat animals and study the subject of medicine, which is considered one of the most important elements of the student’s future knowledge to be able to diagnose and treat pathological conditions.
4. Studying physiology, which enables the student to study the functions of the organs of the animal’s body, how they work, and the positive or negative effect of drugs on these organs.
5. The study of biochemistry, which aims to study the analysis of chemicals and link them in the field of life through the functions performed by the body.
6. Study of general chemistry, which is considered one of the basics of medical sciences, as it aims to study the chemical reactions that occur between substances on the one hand and their relationship with the body on the other hand… .
7. Preparing graduate degree holders in the specializations of physiology, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, and veterinary toxicology.
Branch message
The Physiology and Pharmaceuticals Branch constitutes an important part of the College of Veterinary Medicine – Al-Muthanna University, although it is still in the early stage of its founding in 2012, as it made a serious contribution to teaching the specialties of Physiology, Pharmaceuticals, Toxicology, Biochemistry, and General Chemistry at the bachelor’s level, and its performance will stand out more clearly, with permission.
